Dan and Meghan’s big day will forever be a wedding I remember every minute of. It was nearly mid-June and it was 95 degrees. The outdoor ceremony at Burpee Museum was beautifully decorated and stocked with bottle water. Both Dan and Meghan were pretty quiet – fighting nerves maybe. And while the ceremony was warm, it was beautiful. Dan and Meghan said “I do” in front of the Rock River and a group of their closest friends and family. Unfortunately, my wedding coverage ended about 25 minutes into portraits when I blacked out from heat exhaustion and had to be taken to the hospital. I still tear up when I think about missing the rest of Dan and Megan’s beautiful night, but they were amazing and were more concerned with my health than their photos. I am also lucky enough to live in an area with amazing photographers, and Nate Whinnery came to my rescue to finish photographing the rest of their big day. As I flipped through Nate’s photos, it was quick to realize that Dan and Meghan’s reception was a good time. Laughing and dancing was so evident. While I missed their big night, I was so honored to be a part of their day, even if it was only half of the time. Seriously, two of the nicest, caring people I have ever met.
